Natural History and Technology Museum

This museum is a new double storeyed building which consists of two sections. The natural history section was inagurated in 1974 and the technology section was inagurated in 1986. by the Shiraz University.
 The Natural History & Technology Museum of Shiraz University was founded in 1974 and transferred to the present building in 1978.
Covering area is over 5500 square meters; it is one of the largest museums in Iran, and part of the research center of Shiraz University.
In this museum is the home of about 7800 specimens of plants, fossils, stones, invertebrates and vertebrates such as: sponges, corals, worms, arthropods, echinoderms, mollusks, various types of sharks and fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals are exhibited. It also includes art, coffee shop and service sections plus a library.
It includes the following eight different departments:

 Zoology
 Anatomy
 Geology
 Anthropology
 Botany
 Astronomy
 coins & stamps
 Technology
 Library
Taxidermy
