 Amir Chakhmagh Complex

In order to populate Yazd and with the cooperation of his wife, Fatemeh Khatoun, Amir Jalaledin Chakhmagh - one of the Shahrokh Teymuri's commanders and the governor of Yazd - has founded a complex including Tekieh (religious theatre), square, bath, caravansaries, monastery, pastry house, water well and, more important of all, Amir Chakhmagh mosque.
Installed stone upon the threshold of the mosque face to the square, the incision of endowment deed in Naskh script, fine nets of mosaic tiles of outer circumference of prayer niche's dome, and main platform with stalactite worked vault have placed this mosque after Jaame' mosque from viewpoint of beauty. This monument has been named Now Jaame' Mosque, too. This complex has been founded in IC century.

“Nice Facade and Mosque”
The large facade is just that. A facade. Built for reviewing parades, it is colorful and LARGE. Lighting is best in the afternoon. For a treat, go see it at night. It is lit up beautifully for night time pics. The mosque across the street is small and semi-restored. The slight crumbling appearance is atmospheric and worth a very quick look.

“Nice kebab”
To visit the complex, you only need a little time, but if you go there for lunch after, you're in for a treat. We visited the first kebab place on the left, from the main entrance, because it was really busy. Don't let the offal kebab in the display scare you, they also have less scary things.

“Nice to visit at night”
Wherever you go in Yazd, you'll pass by the monument so no need to plan for it. Nice at night. People sit on the grass and enjoy the cooler temperature.
